      Pros

      Incredible research institution with opportunities everywhere. With NYC only 40 minutes away and a train station right on campus, the social and professional development opportunities are endless. Student Centers hires student employees to work art-time while earning their degree. This department offers excellent networking opportunities, including promotions up to a Senior Manager, Area Coordinator level (which involves overseeing student staff).

      Cons

      As any research institution (and now B1G 10 member), there are political realities that can make communication between offices and students.

      Pros

      Family-oriented flexible work environment, good benefits and a great team of staffers who are focused on doing their best. The administration has taken steps recently to show consideration and appreciation for staff. For instance during snow days and classes are cancelled staff no longer has to report to work.

      Cons

      There should be more structured opportunities for staff members to learn and grow outside of enrolling in classes at the University. The tuition remission benefit is only 50% once you earn a certain amount. Parking is relentless and may times inflexible and punitive.

      Great benefits & budget resources to accomplish work, national profile leads to excellent career opportunities in higher education.

      Cons

      Inconsistent pay scales across employees with similar education/experience, leadership doesn't support work and life balance, staff numbers and support inconsistent across division
