Pros

They do have good technical training for those who will be in administrative positions, but have not come from a technical background. You are also reimbursed for any travel related expenses. I would say the pay is also decent.

Cons

You have to fight for the training. I was denied Preventive Maintenance training three times by my Service Manager before I was accepted. It made no sense because you have a front-facing Customer Service role where customers are constantly asking about PM Services and Ryder's Maintenance Promise. Until I went through PM training, I could only give vague answers, which upset customers. That aside, the biggest issue with Ryder was scapegoating. Somebody was always trying to blame someone else, which created the need for Screen Shots. Lots and lots of Screen Shots. If you did not have those to back you up when someone was pointing the finger at you, you would be found at fault. A lot of times, Senior Management would turn on people they considered to be beneath them (i.e. Shop Supervisors, OMT's, RMT's, Technicians and SE's), creating a lot of stress on everyone. What they did not realize is that in blaming their own employees, they were really telling on themselves as every employee is a reflection of upper management! Our Senior Service Manager would come in and yell at employees or speak in a very heated tone immediately upon arrival and or at meetings. Morale was generally low as it seemed nothing anybody did was ever right. Lastly, employees with little to no experience will be promoted over those who have been with the company and have the knowledge. I was made to train an employee who was then promoted over me two weeks later.

Pros

Pretty laid back place. Nice facilities and lots of time off due to plant shut downs and holidays. Decent café food too that serves breakfast and lunch.

Cons

You have to be a favourite to get promoted. If you are good at your job, they keep you in the same position for years. If you suck at your job, you'll get promoted. It makes no sense but I've watched it happen a dozen times in the last 18 months.
