Pros
Ryder is a big corporation with plenty of resources and structure. It is one of the most respected names in the Transportation Industry with a lot of name recognition. It is a great place to learn and their compensation and benefits are very competitive. You can have a great long term career at Ryder.
Cons
There is a lot of politics and bureaucracy and it is difficult to get things done, mainly because it is a functionalized corporation and there are issues with collaboration between them. Everyone looks out for their piece of the pie at the expense of the others. In the sales organization frontlines there is a saying, the internal sale is harder than selling to the customer..... That says a lot. The senior leadership of the company, although very capable, they are so disconnected from the reality of the field, that they are not able to make good strategic decisions about the business. The mid management group are a "bunch" of "Yes Men" for the most part and this is detrimental for the progress of the company. This is why there is no control over the business churn.
