Pros

SAGA Innovations, Inc. is an educational experience in instruction, learning and mathematics curriculum for the 21st century. The instruction is delivered by a group of carefully screened, tested, and solidly trained individuals, with a desire to share their mathematical, knowledge, experience as a student in advanced mathematics, and inside to inner-city youth in Chicago, Illinois. As a retired educator, I found this experience an excellent fit for educators like me and non-educators who are looking to continue their service and commitment to close the educational achievement gap in mathematics. And finally, I loved working in the SAGA community. My team mate’s life experiences, goals, visions, and their interaction with the diversity of students who came in our labs made coming to work every day very easy. For what it is worth, SAGA Innovations, Inc. earned my endorsement.

Pros

The students definitely are the reason for being here. I had an amazing time with my team this year! My coworkers definitely helped the year to run smoothly. You get to choose who your boss is, so you get a feel for working with someone who you would like to work with.

Cons

The stipend could definitely be raised to a higher amount. It is hard to pay off your college loans and be able to live on the SAGA budget.
