Not a bad company to work for

Pros

There is great team spirit with this company because as the company grows, so too does the spirit and morale of the company's employees. Communications between upper management and employees have improved greatly since IPO. Great employee referral program. Great company to get your feet wet in and gain as much professional experience as possible.

Cons

Average pay, lackluster middle managers, lack of taking corrective action when needed, below average vacation/holiday time compared to other companies. Few people seem to last more than four years here.

Pros

Good work, reasonably competent people. There is definitely a lot of things turning in the right direction at SAIC, it is just going to take time, and we need to shake out a lot of old thinking. It will happen, it is just going to take time.

Cons

A lot of paralysis right now, so much change internally that it is a lot easier just to stay the course than to make progress to the next goal. We are not big enough to flex a lot of muscle against the LockMarts and Grummans of the work, but we should be there soon.

Its a large company with good benefits. Being a larger company you have the opportunity to move around internally if youre seeking a change of pace. More of a relaxed atmosphere than other gov contractors.

Cons

Depends on the group/organization you are with. SAIC is a large company so it can be good or bad. Like most gov contracters, they are stingy about raises and salary.
