Pros

They always did thoughtful things to show you their appreciation. Very polite and respectful people. Every Weds they gave us breakfast tacos from Taco Deli, which I still miss! They also hosted catered lunched and small events to build camaraderie.

Cons

To be fair I don't have any at the moment, except that the second floor seemed rather empty and under staffed. That is my only con.

Pros

Festive morale boosting parties (if you're not in accounting you can attend, since the accounting department is always behind)

Cons

Growing company seemed to be unsure of actual direction, with an accounting department incapable of keeping up and resistant to change. Politics, and who you know in the company will really help you anchor your value and advancement. If you are not in with the big names, you may not be successful. As for the Finance Dept., filled with people who like to complain, and like to work the clock, thus resistant to change. High CFO turnover, lack of good leadership.

SAM Companies Response
9y
We are extremely proud to be voted five years in a row for Austin Top Workplaces award. We attribute one of the reasons for the continued honor of this recognition is due to our company culture. Our monthly events play a significant part in establishing our culture and we encourage our employees to attend. I am disappointed to hear that you felt you were unable to attend due to the workload in your department. I am equally disappointed to hear that you felt that advancements are based on relationships rather than on employees’ talents and the contribution they have made to the company. We believe in providing our employees with opportunities to advance and allowing them to take their careers as far as they may want by instituting a tuition reimbursement program, CEU programs, and lunch and learn training opportunities. As SAM continues to grow and expand, we inevitably will experience changes to better service our clients and improve processes for our employees. We understand the importance of keeping up with new technology and have invested resources toward a new ERP system. I thank you for your input. Chris Solomon, RPLS President
