      Pros

      Interesting and complex work, smart colleagues. Semi academic environment. Access to lots of data and debases (which cannot be used for academic research). Plenty of opportunities to learn. Can be a rewarding and rich learning experience. Regular seminar and speaker series helps keep up with current research and issues. Very solid internal training program.

      Cons

      Little scope for promotions, etc., unless you want to go into "management", which is not for everyone. Work environment can be negative. Best to keep your head down, do your work, and then leave for better opportunities and advancement elsewhere.
