Pros

The learning and experience is unmatched in many similar internships. The projects you get to be a part of are fascinating. The people you meet are for the most part extremely professional and great at their jobs.

Cons

This program is what you make it. If you want to learn, you will learn, if not it will be a waste of time. There are some rotten apples, as you might expect from government. Get close to the smart and hard workers and you will have a great time.

Interesting work, good work life balance, Smart people. You have autonomy and the support of colleagues. Overall a great place to work.

Cons

Some downsides include lack of support staff, investigations are lengthy, salary needs to catch up with some other agencies

Pros

You are on the leading edge of technical and upcoming accounting issues, risks, and SEC focus. You are continually challenged with every new filing that is assigned to you. The SEC strongly supports and recognizes talent, and a job well done.

Cons

Although I was given 6 months off to have a child, and also receive part-time work status, there was no way I could telecommute once I moved back to California. Otherwise, I would still be working there!
