      International exposure & travel. (But at a schedule that many times becomes a con)

      Cons

      Terrible morale, “buddy network” for promotions. Decreasing total compensation over the years. Lack of loyalty to employers - will cut you at senior levels, to lower cost with new employees.

      Slb is a company where employees melt into the corporate culture and hardly mean anything to upper management. SLB has a habit of sidelining companies that they acquire. Also they are just transferring all IT support to India and or Colombia. There is also a push to move it to the Philippines. They cut you and that's it. The path to get to the next band G-12 program is really curated. They only promote their own SLB people and others never even get a chance if they come from an acquisition.

      Good training and travel to experience the world.

      Cons

      Nepotism, if you are not French, British, woman or from the few selected countries you are not valued, including American. Unrealistic expectations from a management. No room for internal technology innovation so CTO prefers to do acquisitions and agreements with people working in their garages or buzz word companies like IA and alternative energy while cutting internal positions.
