Most everyone is really friendly, but even in a small company there are clicks.

Cons

Mgmt is stuffy, be careful there are a few like J. Ladd that will stab you in the back.

Ouch - we appreciate the review, but I have to disagree with several of your remarks. SMS employees are great people and very friendly. As with any company, seasoned employees who have worked together for many years will be good friends. Most of the executive management team have a tenure greater than ten years and work very closely together. Regardless of this fact, the team has an open door policy to all employees and truly enjoys visiting contracts and getting to know the employees. Personally I have worked with Mr. Ladd for over 14 years and he is one of the nicest guys around. Pros

The SMS executive team has long tenure with the company and is very committed to its success. With recent awards of large IDIQ contracts, growth is assured which makes this a desirable place to work. They trust employees to work independently and do not micromanage. SMS shows great loyalty to their employees, and seeks and listens to their opinions. SMS provides excellent collaboration tools which increase productivity tremendously, especially for those who work remotely. I have enjoyed my five years with the company so far.

Cons

Marketing and communications, both internal and external, could be improved.

SMS is a family owned business with excellent advancement and travel opportunities with access to emerging technology.

Cons

Commute and traffic. Many positions are Government contract work.
