Hiarchial management

Pros

There is a lot of room for improvement in the company so if you are idea driven and proactive you MAY have luck implementing effective solutions.

Cons

The hiarchial management of this company leaves little room for creativity or growth. This was quite frankly the worst environment I have ever had the displeasure of working for. As a whole the atmosphere is stuffy and poorly operated. Advancement is viewed as a threat to long term historic employees who are unwilling to implement change in order to keep up with the unequivocal need.

Thank for you taking the time to share your opinion, although it’s disappointing that you had a less than ideal experience. As an employee-owned professional services firm, SRF relies on the talents and skills of our employees. Consulting is a challenging profession, and we ask our employees to give us their best every day. In 2015, we implemented several initiatives to more closely track employee engagement and satisfaction, including surveys and a staff engagement committee – these efforts are enhancing established practices, such as our mentoring and tuition reimbursement programs. I’m personally committed to the growth and development of SRF’s employees and am proud of the long tenure of many of our employees. As SRF continues to grow both regionally and with new services, it is imperative that we encourage new ideas and technologies and foster the growth of each employee. Dave Montebello

Pros

Large organization with some great people.

Cons

They're not interested in improving the way work is done or addressing issues of the 21st century. All work to address equity is virtue signaling.

We are committed to responding to the emerging needs of our employee-owners and clients. Whether that means staying on top of technology trends or pursuing continued growth in diversity, these efforts come from a passion for improvement rather than doing what looks correct. However, we recognize we have more work to do before accomplishing our goals. Successful change requires collaboration from everyone; my door is open for constructive feedback. Pros

They pay certain positions well. Don't let the money suck you in. I felt like I had golden handcuffs on while employed at SRF.

Cons

As said in my headline, if you have any creativity you want to bring to the table, a voice to enhance a process, or drive change, walk away. This is not the organization for you. Any position within corporate services will be extremely limiting, toxic, and suffocating. Within accounting, admin services, and marketing, there has been a complete turnover of ALL groups within the last five years. Leadership has a significant play in this, and no one wants to confront the issues; they enable it. SRF is the only organization I have worked for where I have heard of multiple HR complaints against a leadership team member. That person is still there, actively ruining the culture.

We strive to promote creativity in the workplace. It is unfortunate that wasn’t your experience. We also value all team members, including our Corporate Services employee owners. Establishing and maintaining a respectful workplace environment is essential. It’s disappointing to learn you did not feel that appreciation while you worked at SRF. Part of our employment engagement includes surveys specifically seeking employee feedback. We also work collaboratively 1:1 with our employees in establishing annual goals and evaluating them in our annual reviews) we have not experienced the turnover described in this review, we have certainly faced some team changes. The turnover at SRF is consistently lower than the average for our industry and location, however we still try to learn from each experience through exit interviews. We also often follow up with the team based on that exit interview advice to ensure we are understanding and incorporating feedback appropriately. Finally, we take HR complaints very seriously, regardless of the role of the people involved in a complaint. Any official HR complaint involves appropriate action, especially if there is any type of behavior pattern. – Todd Polum, CEO/President.
