Pros

Pay and benefits are good and most of the non management employees are great to work with.

Cons

Company is so top heavy that decisions that affect employees are nonsensical. Management is not managed themselves so they get away with employee treatment that is questionably legal. Lower management is scared to manage up and push back against bad decisions.

Pros

Stable, solid company. Tries hard to not lay anyone off and provides work life balance. Decent benefits and pension. If you are looking for a place to end your career it is not a bad choice

Cons

Low pay compared to market, deprecating technology, low respect for IT as a whole. This is an old school power company, the power folks run the show and have no idea about IT. They hear buzzwords then try to implement without thinking through. The business units cannot even describe what they want but expect IT to simply make it work. When called out on their issues the departments upper management stomps all over IT or they simply buy a bad product without consulting anyone and blame IT when it doesn't perform. No possibility for automation as the user community is so spoiled they have to build everything custom.

Pros

Flexible schedules for salaried workers. Competitive pay with bonuses every year. Amazing benefits for employees and their families. Family friendly events every year through the employee recreation club (PERA)

Cons

Upper management and leadership are not always consistent and expectations were not very clear. Preferential treatment for hiring friends and family members.
