For the first job, I didn't know better, so I thought what my branch provided were normal, but after years of business experience, I understood how "mess-up" the branch was. Depend on what branch you are assigned to, you may have the supervisor who is extremely underqualified, super arrogant and super disrespectful. I had to wait over 3 months before I finally realize it's way over the line and report to upper/senior management.
-Unnecessary long hours ( this include non-value added work) (Have you ever watch The Office? that's the efficiency I am talking about. Basically need only 1~2 hours of actual work, but still be expect to stay for more than 12 hours) This is why I eventually gave up and fool around as well as I need to kill time.
-Many business strategy ideas will not be accepted (the answer I constantly got is "I have been here 4 years and you have been here 4 months. so... just listen to me" ) After countless of tries, at one point I gave up on making the branch better.
-Extremely unprofessional work area (curse word, F-bomb, verbal assault... you name it, flying everywhere) (Some are jokes, but some are intentional)
-Extremely unorganized place. Not just in term of hygine, I am talking about business structure. (Inventory fulfillment, inventory entitlement, scheduling, forecasting, inventory cycle count, sales strategy.... ) There are so many that I don't even want to list all of them out here.
Again, this is just one branch experience, I have been to a different branch and that particular branch is efficient, profitable, well organized, P&L driven.... So good luck, it really depends on which branch you get to.
