Great floor to work on in regard to the patients. The nurses were horrible to work with and not very nice.

Advanced medicine. Great doctors. Working with children. Loved the floor I worked on because of the type of patients it was fun. The co workers were horrible. They were very young, immature, clickish.

Cons

a lot of the nurses can be not very nice to new people. Orientation was awful due to nurse. Co workers immature and mean.

SSM employee health insurance plan is awesome. I like my coworkers.

Cons

Management is terrible they are completely removed from the bedside and have no clue. They are constantly trying to micro manage nursing. Now we are required to sign a paper in each patients room every hour. When in all reality with having 6+ patients it is nearly impossible to do hourly rounds. They harp on customer service scores but then they do not provide more staff to accomplish higher scores.

Pros

Great work environment with growth opportunities. I work with very compassionate staff that work together as a team to manage patient care. I am currently working with ambulance transportation invoices that I research to assist in managing the bottom dollar. I coordinate best practices within the Case Management team and assist all department units as needed.

Cons

In all honesty, I don't have any cons about working here at St. Mary's Health Center. The only thing that may come to mind is the fact that the Franciscan Sisters are no longer on campus and they always inspired all staff which is a wonderful support system.
