Pros

Extreme flexibility to take on as much responsibility as you want. Great work-life balance. It is expected that you are left alone when taking time off. Top-tier management and leadership who are very transparent. Yearly raises. If you don't understand something, the work environment is highly collaborative, and everyone is willing to help, no matter how elementary the question.

Cons

Flatish hierarchy with not a lot of room to move. Teams tend to run lean, which causes crunch time near deadlines. Pay is determined by an external company that does compensation research in the area to remain "average" and not draw in talent. Benefits are below average for the area. No bonuses. Pay adjustments do not take time at the company into account.

Pros

The company is growing at an impressive rate, and the on-boarding process is finally starting to take shape. It has excellent benefits and great job security. You are not removed from the company simply due to a lull between contract periods. There is likewise excellent documentation within their hardware and software. This typically makes interpreting software implementations a very simple process. Software engineers are similarly brought on and immediately introduced to

Cons

The pay is only average, which would be acceptable if the opportunities to advance weren't so few in number. They still use an antiquated performance evaluation model which is largely dependent on your relationship with your manager. It is similarly dependent on the success of the project to which you are assigned. If you are assigned to a successful project, you will be moved up in the company. However, if you are assigned to a failing project, you will work endlessly without appreciation or capacity for lateral movement within the company. Supposedly, the company encourages flexible hours with the opportunity to work from home. In practice, you will often put in over twenty hours of unpaid overtime a week, only to be told that you 'may be working hard but you're not working smart'. Upper management likewise lets mid-level management performed unchecked, and refuses to listen to any complaints of abuse or aggressive behavior.

Pros

- Meaningful work supporting U.S. national security priorities - Talented and committed colleagues across functions - Strong global brand with respected products and capabilities

Cons

- After raising internal policy compliance questions, I experienced increased manager hostility, micromanagement, and questions about my dedication from a member of the U.S. Saab, Inc. C-Suite. - Despite good-faith efforts to improve the dynamic, the environment became tense enough that I felt hesitant to, for example, fully use approved leave or personal time, or raise concerns internally for fear of manager retaliation. - Despite directly informing the U.S. Saab, Inc. CEO of the problem, and receiving assurances that my work and effort were exactly what they needed to be (as evidenced by my positive internal reviews), the increasingly hostile manager interactions continued. - Strong disapproval of the U.S. Saab, Inc. CEO and the culture that is encouraged in the U.S. C-Suite
