Pros

Hard work pays off now! If you get results at your store you will move up. They recently removed an outdated manager development program that was absolutely useless.

Cons

Work/life balance is affected but you have to understand that this is expected since it's an industry that is obviously in high demand (people have to eat). Working holidays (yes, they are open) is expected.

Pros

Challenging and varied work with a nice balance of on the job training and mentoring. Responsible for running the front end with full accountability.

Cons

Store Directos (SDS) and ASDs can and do give conflicting directives to those given from outside the store supervisors and corporate. Position not yet integrated well into Safeway stores. Additional responsibilities added weekly.

Bonus, Pay, Customer interactions. Great way to learn the ropes of management helps you grow your own management style

Cons

No flexibility in schedule. Poor work life balance.
