Pros

Benefits are great! People stay for the benefits for as long as they can ride it out without working hard.

Cons

Only those in the inner circle (original SAGE employees) are treated well and are given every exception to rules that others have to follow. The unfairness is so blatant that favorites receive preferential treatment and do not have to work hard at all. They are protected by mgmt.

Pros

-Kindness and engagement of peer colleagues: Generally speaking, most colleagues (particularly in the UK) are effective collaborators and work with each other towards solutions respectfully -Above Average Benefits: I appreciate the opportunities to take advantage of wellness credits, matching donations to charity, opportunity to earn bonuses twice annually, and colleague support network groups that are actually funded and supported by leadership -Learning Opportunities: The ERP technology space is large and fast growing, and being part of that can be fun and exciting. There are many opportunities to learn about the industry, product, competitive landscape, and actively contribute to recommending solutions. I have really appreciated seeing tangible outcomes of my work to our customers and industry.

Cons

-Mandated Time in Office: Many colleagues (myself included), spend most of our days on calls with colleagues from across the world who could not be physically present with each other. I do not support forced time in office, particularly when that time is spent on the phone. Greater efficiency and well-being can take place by providing more flexibility to colleagues. This also puts our remote colleagues at a large disadvantage when on-site colleagues are given more time and attention from leadership. -Prioritization and Alignment of Leadership: With fast growth does come more opportunities to miss the mark in terms of alignment across leadership. Unfortunately, there is a consistent theme of major initiatives being assigned to a specific group (e.g. product, commercial, marketing, etc.) without proper alignment and support of leaders in other groups that are key for execution. This causes regular frustration, angst, and fear of retribution among colleagues who are true boots on the ground trying to manage multiple initiatives at once. -Opportunities for Growth: There are limited opportunities for true growth for colleagues at an individual contributor level. I have found there is vague direction and guidance on career progression steps and have seen more outside hires than promotion from within.

We appreciate your extensive feedback. We are pleased to know that you feel the strength of our human value through the interactions you have with your fellow colleagues. It is also great to read that you are pleased with the benefits afforded to you and with the business opportunities we have with regard to ERP technology that offer you a chance to scale your own development as well. That being said, we are sorry that your experience has not been more positive as of yet but we are hopeful that as we continue to evolve and improve, you are in for a much more fulfilling life at Sage. With regard to our hybrid working framework, this has been embedded to further strengthen our culture of human centricity and high performance. We believe that the human in-person connection is very important to innovation and hence we are encouraging our colleagues, where they can, to come into the offices and collaborate in-person with their teams and cross-functionally as well. In the spirit of being aligned, we have made a few additions to the way we operate, one key one being the cascading of our OKRs from the top leaders all the way down. This helps keep teams in sync with one another but also with the vision and strategy that comes right from leaders. Our leaders are very approachable and open so we encourage you to have continuous discussions on support and alignment, with your leaders. With our Talent Marketplace platform, we have numerous resources for development. We are also building out more stories on the incredible career paths that have been taken throughout the organisation so please look out for these coming soon. We also have put in strategies to help us scale our DEI agenda so please reach out to Greg Nance our North America DEI Director as he'd be happy to have a further conversation about our overarching plans. Thank you again for your review and we hope to keep hearing from you both here and internally.

Incompetency and Politics

Pros

- Small pockets of excellence still exist at Sage Intacct - Product market fit is second to none - Remote work is still encouraged among sales

Cons

- Very incompetent / weak leadership who is unwilling or unable to break down barriers to transparent, inspiring work - Sales operations is a joke - New comp plans are a joke that requires a PH.d in mathematics to understand

We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to know that your life at Sage experience has not been 100% positive. We have given visibility of your concerns to our senior leadership team in North America and our People VP for North America has made the following comments in response: “In working to break down barriers, we also strive to leverage our values of simplify and human to improve all of our processes and colleague experience. It is a journey we have started, but we recognize we still have progress to make in many areas. We appreciate all feedback that will continue to help us on this journey.”
