Work life balance is not the best.

Although I’ve noticed a great improvement in the culture and general attitude at sce, one thing that is still lacking sometimes is communication. The hours can be less than ideal but they pay you a % 9 premium plus give 5 extra vacation days for night shift to allow you more time to do things that first shift would be able to do after their shift. Working in the shop you should expect to do lots of manual labor and be on your feet most the day, which in my experience isn’t too bad. I’m not a very strong guy and I do just fine and if you need help doing something don’t be afraid to ask. Also mandatory over time, either work 8 or 10 hour shifts depending on the demand, usually slows down around Christmas but not always, expect to work 50 hour weeks but budget your bills as 40 hour weeks so you aren’t struggling when production slows, they’ve never had lay offs so it’s nice job security.
