Pros

The benefits at SLU, from a vacation and tuition reimbursement standpoint, are decent. There are many passionate, committed people at the University, but the higher level administrators are so fearful of the President, and his chosen ones, that ethical standards -- fiscally, professionally, and educationally, are consistently ignored.

Cons

Every single person at this University, from the bottom up, fears the President and his staff. The Board of trustee members are hand chosen by the President, and nothing will improve until those in power are removed. If you are considering sending your child there, or looking at a position that has any direct contact with the President's Office, reconsider for your sake, and your families.

Pros

helpful people, beautiful campus and old buildings, decent benefits and a great mission of learning and helping people, tuition reimbursement, strong attempt by Jesuits to educate employees about mission and history of the Jesuits

Cons

"turf protectors" can make life difficult, complicated and confusing system at times, salary so/so, parking is expensive and limited, lots of turnover and drama at times, rules can seem arbitrary and rigid, not a great deal of vertical communication
