This company has no clue what a resort in Destin, FL needs to run in terms of budgets.
The elite management team members (@ the top) are so incredibly rude and off putting not to mention inaccessible and act as though their better than everyone. Such a shame as upon entering the company you have such respect for them.
One particular manager (w/one of the worst accents I've heard in a long time) was awful to work with & be around. This individual was 100% a micro manager and wouldn't relinquish any sort of duties to anyone. If you were lucky enough to receive a tast from this manager, this person would take 100% credit for it. Literally stamp their name onto your hard work with littler to no remorse. Everyone who worked under them knew it too, which made it even more sad. This particular manager was so incredibly fake to guests & co workers faces it was really hard to have respect for this person because he'd talk behind their back as soon as they left! It was really awkward to be around. As a result the turn over under this person was massive! Everyone who worked for this manager quit promptly leaving positions to fill but no one looking for the positions (because word gets around quick in this small town). As a result this made it virtually impossible to perform the duties of your position. Most because youre too busy performing two or three of your co workers duties (because they'd jumped ship before you and the job still had to be done).
Theft was another huge problem! I always felt terrible when guests would call after their stay because they'd accidentally left something in their room. It was always the same excuse, "it was never retrieved". At first you believe the story but then once you have to tell guest after guest the same thing, it really starts to become alarming! I even heard of one account where an employees item was "never retrieved" from a room. Shame for such a beautiful property as word gets around quick in a small town.
Overall I believe the company has the best of intentions and at first I was Incredibly proud to work there. Sadly their management staff is lackluster leaving the property incredibly understaffed. Luxury properties come at a cost to run the first year and sadly the managers put in place to run this "luxury" property have no clue what a property in Destin, FL takes to run.
If you're looking for a thankless, over stressful job where you wear many hats due to the inconsistencies of the management team then I assure you this is the place for you!
