Small but excellent company

Pros

Entrepreneurial approach where you are challenged everyday to think of how to make a difference in service and ultimately the bottom line. Love that there is a female African American who is the owner and that the senior management has a lot of experience and is quite diverse in backgrounds. 100% honest and above board in dealings guests, clients and employees.

Cons

Light staffing makes people juggle many priorities and reprioritze all of the time. Frustrating for anyone who likes to finish something completely or almost completely before taking on many more tasks.

Pros

This company has only one pro in my opinion: -On the operation side; each outlet is able to be run by the managers as if they are their own independent company. This gives the operation staff a sense of pride and responsibility for their daily tasks.

Cons

The cons are endless: -On the executive side there is ZERO guidance. Most of the managers have no idea what their expectations are for their own department let alone themselves. - Lack of communication in all departments - Very slow on paying back invoices -The head Salamander managers are some of the most slimy people I have ever encountered in the work force. They will lie to your face just to get you to “play along” with their ridiculous games. It makes you feel like you are just a pawn. - Because the golf, leisure and group sales department is jumping ship left and right (with good reason) it makes for any new employee coming into this mess feel 100% stress and anxiety about losing their job too. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY EVER!!

Pros

-possible opportunity for growth since they are so small

Cons

- Most unprofessional group of corporate professionals during the acquiring process by Salamander. (including lack of communication, lack of interest in their newly acquired employees, lack of respect, empty promises and more). - they do not take into account the importance of membership the resorts have in their 3 FL properties. - service positions will probably be ok at their resorts (housekeeping, front desk etc), professional positions should beware: they talk a good game and have really ruined all their resorts in Florida.
