Demoralized!

Pros

Other employees are awesome. Hardworking and dedciated -- until they feel used and abused. A beautiful place you can take pride to work in.

Cons

No leadership from those in management positions. Nepotism is evident in some departments. There is no recognition for your efforts or enthusiasm. Management does not live up to its own code of conduct; there is a huge disconnect between what they say and what they do, particularly middle management. In a place where team work is so vital, there is a huge divide between management and hourly staff. There is no outlet to discuss policy or procedure. Communication is hugely lacking.

Pros

The staff in every department is awesome. Most of them communicate well, with a few exceptions. The location is beautiful, not that you'll ever get a free minute to enjoy it. The front desk staff is phenomenal.

Cons

Every day at some point, you'll want to quit. Your managers will crush your soul and treat you like crap. Because the salamander is so new, there are not standard operating procedures set in place. They expect you to follow orders without question even if they're not aware of the entire situation. They preach about the rules and standards but don't follow them. Several of the managers don't know how to do their jobs. No matter how well you think you're performing your duties, your job is probably not safe. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Pros

I learned a lot about how not to/how to run a business other employees were nice HR staff were accommodating

Cons

-more concerned with making sure everything looks good rather than thing actually being good -management does not care about their staff, the feel they are replaceable -during interviews they will tell you that they promote from within but that is not the case, there is not room for growth -expected to work ridiculous hours because they are understaffed and then ridiculed for going into over time -terrible communication across the board -they spend more time making you memorize silly phrases and expectations but don't actually pay attention to whether or not those expectations are met -reprimanded for asking for time off, even for doctors appointments -certain upper level managers are ridiculously inappropriate, unprofessional, and inconsiderate (language is unnecessarily vulgar and foul) this job was literally soul sucking do not work here.
