Pros

Great mission, providing access to education for students. Great building with full gym with basketball and tennis courts. Great work-life balance. The colleagues are genuinely friendly and helpful and almost everyone wants to get things done. Right now, with the stock price so low, any stock bonus will appreciate significantly.

Cons

There was a big cultural and pay difference between senior management and the rank and file. The internal IT organization was too set in their 'old' ways and unable to adapt quickly to changing marketplace demands. Additionally, the organization became too big and has lost focus for some of their core competencies.

Pros

There are some very bright people here to learn from and grow. The work like balance is strong with recognition that time with family is an important aspect of job satisfaction.

Cons

The salary is not very competitive. The company is going through some difficult times so some departments have little job security. The future profitability of the federal guarantee loan business is also in question so that makes the long term attractiveness of working at the company questionable.
