Pros

They do have a good benefits package. Every department I worked in recognized good job performance and rewarded it accordingly.

Cons

The company went through tremendous change with a lot of downsizing over the last couple of years. Changes aren't always effectively communicated by upper management.

Pros

Sallie Mae really cares about employee well being. They offer good work/life balance as well as tuition reimbursement and a free onsite gym and an ala cart cafeteria.

Cons

The work at Sallie Mae, as well as other comparable companies in the lending business, tends to be boring and monotonous.

Pros

Benefits, Benefits, Benefits!!! They had great benefits when I was emloyed with the company. Politics were sometimes frustrating. Overall, great company with great people!

Cons

Looking back, really no cons. Loved the work I did and how I was treated. The only people I saw who had any difficulty within the company were those who did not work hard and follow the rules. Occasionally, politics were an issue, but that is the same with any company you work for.
