Great people who want to help you out, if you're stuck on a problem. They want to make sure you grow in the job, you have to be proactive to get on opportunities.

Cons

Struggling to get people back to office.

Pros

Adaptability of Sallie Mae workforce has accelerated and transitioned focusing on the support and training of individuals to enhance priority focused product delivery. Attending conferences (Gartner, Adobe, AWS) and having an extensive catalog of training available, adapting/training employees to focus on skills supporting the evolving technologies and management techniques. A focus to help potential customers with Education and Scholarship opportunities supporting minority communities and graduate level programs.

Cons

As with any business, the pace of change is still under acceleration within SallieMae. These changes continue to gain more refinement and efficiencies providing better delivery to Sallie Mae's customers or prospective customers.

Pros

Work life balance is great in the Newton Office. Managers understand you are humans first, that are working to live, not living to work. Managers for the Newton office fiercely advocate for their teams' development, growth, and time. The quality of the people are fantastic.

Cons

Digital organization could be more efficient and less siloed in terms of how work starts, is designed, then developed, but as someone who has been here for nearly 4 years, I see this improving with the recent customer experience leadership changes. Projects are often tabled after months of work due to inefficiencies, technical, or legal issues. Teams could be more involved from the start; despite an agile environment sometimes feels waterfall.
