Pros

Sam's Club offers a very flexible schedule and allows you to experience many facets of the retail industry. If you are a student it is ideal.

Cons

Sam's Club management looks down on students getting degrees. They will tell you that it's great to get an education. The next moment they will say that a degree will get you nowhere in the company. Many managers have no formal education themselves, so many times they feel threatened by young educated people. This company also pays its people very little and they take forever to promote hardworking individuals.

Pros

The co-workers are for the most part pretty cool. While there are those who don't quite fit in, there is a strong team atmosphere. And if you can get a good supervisor that just makes it even better.

Cons

While i have never personally experienced the horror stories of working for the Wal-mart Corp, I can assure you they do exist. I've had co-worker not get time off, that had already been approved. Promotions would be based on popularity rather than, actual work ethic. When it gets busy managers run around like a chicken with their head cut off. Good luck getting a full time position, most positions are part time with maybe 2 or 3 full time position per department. This is so they can cut down on giving benefits. So they horror stories are true but there are some happy ending there as well.
