Pros

Ok pay Free lunch; although hair can be in your food Good Xmas gift Lots of exercise from the parking garage to the building

Cons

Whilst everyone has a perception that “One has made it” if they obtain the opportunity to work at Samsung, unfortunately my perception was shattered on day 1 of employment. The lack of respect for humans, professionalism, and knowledge rolls all the way from the top in Korea to the President and the Sr VP in San Jose; the bottom. The company dysfunction is deep throughout the organization. There is no structure, no direction, there is no help when needed, and most definitely no team environment whatsoever. Everyone is afraid to help their peers in fear that they will be wrong and get in trouble. Everyone acts like timid field mice. It’s definitely a sight never seen before. This heinous experience is exacerbated because no one knows what they’re doing to begin with. The president will repeatedly bash sales reps (whether doing great or not) openly on the sales floor. Ive never seen anything like it. Not ok and not normal. In bi-yearly strategy meetings, you will sit through a day and a half long continuous bashing of sales reps from the president and the Sr VP. They bounce off each other in beat down questions in order to show you who’s boss. This is the behavior that an exceptional chameleon will adopt in order to survive the Samsung Electro Mechanics experience. This is the worst experience Ive ever had in all of my working years. Stay away.

Pros

Very fancy office space in a nice location. Decent amenity in terms of coffee, drinks, snacks and instant noodles. Special gifts on holiday occasions. - Insurance package is decent - Highly secure working environment: better than a CIA office (multiple finger print scanned entries and lots of security cameras everywhere) - Very expensive overall office appearance: look is very important

Cons

Whatever bad things you heard about this company are ALL TRUE then SOME! Other than concurring other reviewers' comments and here are some more insights: - It is like a combination of high-school & zoo. Complete lack of professionalism from top to bottom - Management doesn't do what they say: open working environment means that they can spy on everyone more easily and keep more secrets from everyone else; innovation means copy others' designs/ideas; - No career advancement unless you are an obedient manager's pet following every order blindly without questioning - Can't believe anything you hear from the management - Constant threats from the management if you are on working VISA - Management drives away talented, hard-working and capable personnel, keep deceiful, incompetent and manipulative suck-ups - Make up any excuses to can you - Complete lack of technical competence for an engineering firm

Pros

SEMCO is a great company to work for. Some pros consist of competitive salary, benefits, and great welcoming and laid back culture.

Cons

Some cons consist of lack of diversity and lack of hands on training. It is very Korean style and there is a lot of self learning that is done.
