Pros

Work with new tech... and average compensation (no longer competitive in today's hot job market in the Valley). Nothing else really.

Cons

A sudden flush o 4-5 stars reviews... around the same date? Damn... you guys must be getting desperate (or probably it was in someone's bonus target to improve glassdoor score?). Here are the issues with SRA: it has a toxic culture, no collaboration between employees, totally incompetent managers and lack of accountability. If you work real hard and get great results: you get fired! If you work hard: you get punished. If you don't work: still get punished or fired It is basically a no-win scenario. Do yourself a favor and steer away from this trap. ps1: In case you are wondering, I left the company way back in 2015 and it was one the best decisions I've made in my career. ps2: only wrote this review because of the shady 4-5 stars reviews recently posted. Shame!

Thank you for your feedback. Please know that many things have changed at SRA since 2015. Under new leadership, we are committed to creating a transparent and collaborative environment for all our employees. We are working hard to improve our culture and our employees are noticing the positive change. We absolutely do not incentivize Glassdoor reviews since this is against Glassdoor’s guidelines and it is impossible to manipulate our score in anyway. The issues you list do not reflect the work environment at SRA today and do not represent us as an organization. Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with us and wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

Work-life balance, great environment and facilities, wide range of technologies

Cons

Some (not all) managers do not respect talented people, but welcome and even hire weak and unproductive engineers during uncertain times in Samsung business. Many good engineers are insulted by management and have left the company, giving weak managers chances to replace them by weaker ones for their own job security.

Thank you for your time here at SRA! While this review of management is not representative of our culture, I am greatly concerned about these claims. At SRA we go to great lengths to hire the best talent and ensure that we reward our high-performing people. Making sure that these priorities are aligned throughout our organization, it would greatly help if you confidentially contact me at erica.ho@partner.samsung.com.

Pros

Medical benefits, business travels, and not much else really

Cons

The following are the negative aspects that are commonly experienced when working at Samsung: • Korean management, who were sent to the U.S. from Samsung Corp. in Korea, makes all of the decisions. • Non-Korean managers and employees are put in place to keep up an "American" appearance. • Management will favor ethnically and culturally Korean employees. • Culturally Korean employees will have work-related conversations in Korean in front of non-Korean co-workers. • Majority of managers are severely incompetent and have very little skill or expertise. • Working style emulates the military (probably Korean military). • At Samsung, female workers are second class citizens who need to feign traditional, submissive roles. Sometimes, they literally walk behind the male employees, especially if they are culturally Korean. • Employees work very hard to "compete" by analyzing competitor's products & features. • Compensation will be below par when compared to competing companies, unless you were an A level employee at the competing company, i.e. A, F, G, & N, who Samsung would like to poach in the area. If you are currently working for one of the top tier companies, please be well advised and make a better choice for your career.
