Pros

The layoff package was descent but you have had to worked there over four years. That's about all I can say positively (and the fact that there's a 20 word minimum -- sorry, can't think of anything else good to say).

Cons

Management needs training on how to deal with people, and if they get training, they need stay awake during their courses. Managers play favorites waaaaay too much from my experiences. Some of management have horrible people skills. Maybe they're pressed too heavily from above, but that is caused by upper managements unrealistic expectations of their own abilities and from their own self expressed mistakes in forecasting.

Pros

Decent compensation, bonus paid regularly if decent market. If you end up with supportive management (and there are some), means good opportunity for RSU's, extra compensation. company position as one of few captive suppliers of Flash memory could offer good long term prospects..

Cons

Hard silos, hierarchical management. As political as I've ever seen, even within groups. Getting on the wrong side of some senior manager by doing things like disagreeing with the party line can result in severe career consequences, which can be unrecoverable. Information and good opportunities, including what is needed to progress in your career, are tightly managed to create a class system of haves and have-nots. Information transfer between groups (Enterprise products, memory team, consumer products) is virtually non-existent at the engineer level, controlled tightly by management, and funneled through a favored few engineers. In some 'teams' communication is non-existent (one group communication within organization in nearly two years?).

Pros

Decent salary and benefits. Just about average compared to other bay area companies.

Cons

Very high level of politics. Extremely political and silo mentality. Honest and upright people will have tough time surviving in this company, let alone thrive.
