Pros

The legacy Santander Consumer USA employees (the few that haven't already left the company) are generally experienced in their jobs and a pleasure to work with. Benefits were pretty good as well.

Cons

Leadership of the US holding company is a joke and they continue to RIF experienced SCUSA employees in order to fill those roles with SHUSA employees who have almost no experience. I can only assume that leadership in Madrid must be largely clueless as well as they have allowed this to happen. Prior to SHUSA essentially running the US business like it was a "Mom and Pop" store, the SCUSA business was fairly efficient and a decent place to work. Once SHUSA began putting inexperienced people into key positions, the company has become a revolving door with most good employees opting to move on to a less dysfunctional employer.

Work-life balance(hybrid office schedule), decent pay, exposure to a lot of different areas, global networking.

Cons

Slightly unorganized in comparison to larger banks, favors Spanish language in internal systems.
