Pros

They are a global company.

Cons

ESG initiatives while great on paper are not executed. The culture is toxic and when employees speak up they are retaliated against. I tried this and was laid off even while including HR in many communications and completing an anonymous work survey. Leadership nor HR did anything to help the employees including me. I was a great performer for all my years there and was treated horribly by leadership in my last months. The purpose of this review is to share what I would have shared in my exit interview. I requested one and Santander declined.

Pros

You get to see how IT shouldn't be done

Cons

IT has a 60% turnover rate because it’s so messed up. With each Director/CTO turnover we hope that things will improve but they never do. This company runs things as if it was the early 2000’s. The leaders are full of pride and will not engage vendors or ask for help. They constantly throw contractors under the bus and use them as scapegoats when things go wrong when it’s our leaders who never plan. They only think one-step ahead and don’t understand the concept of residual impacts. Some departments complain about not having manpower, but never adjust their justification for more resources. They implement “solutions” that have a more negative than positive impact on the business and simply don’t care. This company had promise 5+ years ago, now with the current leadership in place, it’s a disaster. Every good employee has left or is looking. Save yourself an ulcer and look elsewhere.

Pros

Great benefits such as vacation time, medical, etc

Cons

Poor IT leadership Became too expensive to work downtown and the company provided no incentive Lack of direction Too much cronyism Became more of a sweatshop environment with no work\life Allowed outside unqualified individuals to dictate solutions not in their area Panic management and disorganization due to very poor planning and failure to listen to knowledgeable individuals Fail to retain qualified people and when they left, slow to no movement to replace them Outdated technology (back end) which also hindered bringing new IT Technologist since it is a career killer to work with out dated technology and not plans to move forward, even though new technology was desperately needed. Exit interview produced no results for those employees who were left
