      STAY AWAY FROM SANTANDER INTERNAL AUDIT DEPARTMENT!!!!!!!!

      Pros

      CPE credits and good benefits for a private organization. In fact, the idea of having a functional IA department is there but has yet to materialize.

      Cons

      Not sure where to begin. Certain people in management are not qualified to do their job. Some of them have absolutely no audit background/knowledge and do not have the skills necessary to manage effectively. Worse of all, senior management refuses to address the issues and prefer to keep losing great talents. If you are a professional with good work ethics, please do yourself a favor: STAY AWAY FROM SANTANDER INTERNAL AUDIT DEPARTMENT! STAY AWAY! If you would like to corroborate this comment, ask a few recruiters in the Boston area and they will tell you.

      Building is nice, I guess.

      Cons

      -You get 10 minutes a week of personal time/bathroom time, 2 minutes a day. I have never felt more like a child in my life. MAKE SURE TO BRING A DIAPER. -Preach advancement but hire from the outside rather then promote within. -Almost every position besides becoming a manger is "lateral" meaning you will not get a raise but they expect more work out of you. Also they will force you to these departments if you are consistently hitting bonus so they don't have to pay you. -Highest raise they give annually is .4% (which is around .50 cents) only to top performers (no one knows the criteria to being considered a top performer) -HR has a "closed door policy"... if something is bothering you make sure to schedule and appt. through email and hopefully they email you back a few days later. Kind of defeats the purpose of HR.

      There are some great managers; it's very individualistic Decent benefits

      Worst IT department I have seen in my 25 years of working; never really had the tools to do my job No vision at leadership level; everything is lip service No focus, always looking at the next bright and shiny object No concept of customer loyalty; when a place has no loyalty to its employees, that is the end result
