Pros

Little oversight or micro-management get to work outdoors

Cons

The manager is highly belligerent. The company would rather you do a fast, sloppy job rather than actually take care of the clients. The branch is knowingly spreading spotted lantern fly to clients' properties. I really wish that I could put in 0 stars for culture and values.

Pros

The company prioritizes safety and professionalism and concerns are taken very seriously. The people who actually matter seem to genuinely care about their work. There will be variation among locations and individual circumstances at any large company, so I would be very hesitant to judge the company based on a few peoples bad experiences.

Cons

There is a shortage of motivated and/or qualified employees in the green industry in general and that can cause the typical pressures on the good ones and it also can cause increased hiring of “bad apples”. If you are not interested in advancing your career in and being a part of the tree care industry, you will probably not succeed in the industry in general. Its more than just a job.

Thank you for offering such thoughtful and balanced feedback. We appreciate your long term commitment and your recognition of the priority we place on safety, professionalism, and taking employee concerns seriously. Your acknowledgment that experiences can vary by location is an important perspective and reflects the complexity of a large and diverse organization. While retention is always a top priority, developing the future of the industry is equally important. We need to retain our proven, high performing climbers because they deliver immediate value and set the standard for safety and quality. At the same time, we have a responsibility to build the next generation by investing in structured training that helps less experienced team members gain skills and progress confidently. Striking that balance strengthens our pipeline, protects our operational readiness, and positions the organization for long term success. Thank you for reinforcing that success in this field requires genuine interest, skill development, and long term commitment. We value your continued contributions and your focus on elevating the profession.

Pros

Online self advancement is helpful.

Cons

My experience working at SavATree was deeply disappointing and ultimately damaging to my well-being. While the work itself offered opportunities to grow technical skills, the internal culture was toxic and unprofessional. During my time there, I was subjected to name-calling, racial remarks, and threats of violence from both coworkers and managers. There were also repeated instances of employees attempting to share inappropriate material on the job, as well as false rumors and a serious, unfounded accusation that caused significant distress. When I brought these concerns to management and HR, I was not supported—instead, I became socially isolated by both peers and supervisors. This led to a mental health crisis that ultimately cost me my job after a prolonged suspension, leaving me without income or support at a critical time. For anyone considering a position at SavATree: if you find yourself in a hostile work environment, do not expect meaningful support from leadership or HR. Protect your health and dignity—consider looking elsewhere.
