Pros

Generous PTO, retirement match and flexible schedules. Most middle management and below are wonderful people to work with.

Cons

Don’t speak out or your job will be on the chopping block. Don’t point out issues or you’ll be considered a road block. Don’t question upper management or you’ll be black listed from all decision making meetings. Senior Leadership plays favorites and do not listen to their people doing the actual work. They continue to approve/install projects, systems and business models that make the work happening to keep the lights on behind the scenes impossible to maintain. It seems very clear that Save the Children International is the “boss” and Save US will be absorbed in no time.

Pros

The work that Save does across the world and in US is commendable. The teams are fantastic, friendly, aligned with the mission and work and are extremely knowledgeable. Perhaps the only organization that gives one the opportunity to discover self laterally in different kinds of roles and allows learning new skills. Lots of opportunity to learn state state of the art management skills and tools.

Cons

Moderate to low pay. Poor top level management causing paucity of funds and disruption in work. Change management has been going on for 5+ years and yet work level stability has not been achieved. Teams are terribly overworked and in constant stress. Workplace bullying has been witnessed by few.
