Pros

I liked most of the people I worked with.

Cons

I was partnered with a "gentleman" who treated me like a third rate citizen. I mentioned it several times to management who just replied "That's just the way he is." Plus I had a production manager that constantly lied about how much we had to do, what other stores did, etc. he never thought to ask if I knew people at that store that I could check his info out with, I guess when as assistant manager slouches in a job interview that should be an indication of how professional they are. District manager came and never once talked to employees, introduced herself, nothing.

Pros

It's a job if you absolutely need one

Cons

My co-workers and I call it SLAVERS because they are going to try to work your tail off as hard as they can and pay you as little as they can. They will tell you how much they appreciate your work and that you have the potential to go above and beyond, that you are management material. However your minimum wage checks will net reflect this. For months I went in day after day giving them 110% only to come in the next day to have to do it all over again.

Pros

What thrift stores contribute to a community in general. Not only for they're customers, but also providing entry level jobs. Not only for youths, but also immigrants, and the developmentally disabled. Those with "weak" or No resume to speak of. Funding with CASH money, for whatever charities they may sponsor. My Goodness, the opportunity for recycling alone is worthy in itself! Savers benefits package is really generous. Among any large corporation in America today.

Cons

Like in most large corporations, particularly retail. The Lions share of the compensation and perks, go to those who have never actually worked in the plant. I'm not talking about a summer in school or an internship here and there of a week or two. The upper management? above store level. Are really out of touch with the reality of the jobs. I'm not talking metrics, weights, or pulleys. I'm talking People. More recently known as Human resources. Workers get up every morning and make it Happen. Executives show up whenever? And make it Work.
