Pros
smart, insanely hardworking peers. lots of responsibility, can move fast internally if you prove yourself (at high cost: see cons). great time to join with recent raise, new SFHQ office, decent perks.
Cons
can be 80-100 hr workweeks, wake-to-sleep laptop time; awful wlb during ramp, often more a "life" than a "job." many ppl i met in ops were unhappy, super burnt out, or gritting teeth till projects stabilized. can be wildly manual ops work; internal tooling a mess + projects often on fire --> working at the lowest level (e.g. checking labeling tasks one by one). often need to make hard tradeoffs with other parts of life (e.g. physical/mental health, romantic relationships, hobbies). that being said, works super well for some ppl. make sure you're radically honest with yourself about what you can handle, what you actually want your life to look relative to work, and what you're [not] willing to sacrifice before joining
