* You pay your toll of slow weekdays DEARLY in the form of crowded weekends, holidays, and the out-of-school months
* ASLs (Managers) are no help
** They are never on your side with costumer disputes, even when you enforce the rules and policies THEY demanded you to in the interest of customer safety.
** They don't respect your availability, At all. Not abiding by their sporadic needs is grounds for termination.
*** I remember on one occasion, a coworker was forced to work a 12 hour weekend shift because an ASL couldn't be bothered to handle the wheel that they manage despite claiming to be able.
* Revolving door of new coworkers that immedietly quit or move onto other departments. Save for a few. You will understand why the hemorrhaging happens after a few months.
* In training, You are told the wheel is to NEVER be operated by one person as it's a safety hazard. Especially when it's busy. ASLs still made us operate the wheel solo on occasion. Saturday mornings...
** Hemorrhaging is at its worst in the summer months. Expect to work alone. Alot
*** Part time workers often end up working fulltime hours during the summer. Alone.
* In terms of promotion, the ferris wheel workers feel quarentined from the rest of the staff in my experience. I know a coworker who went from wheel operator to department manager but she had to put much much more effort than she should have considering her previous professional qualifications
