Pros

Descent hours. That's about it

Cons

Micromanaged to the second by someone who has zero of a marketing background. You will go 10 years back in your career - don't do it. Hired without clear definition of role; no on boarding, no conversations with manager, zero direction. This has been the most horrific place Ive ever worked at. Management has zero clue about marketing.

Pros

The dress code is not enforced here. You can pretty much wear whatever you want as long as you show up.

Cons

This is a small company with big name. The overall employee morale is as low as the pay. Benefits are sub-par and expensive.

Passion vs Payroll

Pros

Working at Scholastic you feel a part of a family. The employees are passionate about what they work on and you get to know everyone very easily.

Cons

Publishing is notoriously underpaid, which makes it very difficult to scrape by at any sort of entry-level position. Most assistants have to supplement their salary by doing freelance work for supplemental income.
