I loved working for Scholastic - their mission used to be to get books in kids' hands and I was all for it. It used to be a fun company to work for. Working remote was awesome. Great benefits. Company is very diverse & supportive of ALL.

Cons

Things have changed with new management. So much micro-managing. Set amount of calls you had to make per day, set amount of hours you had to be on the phone per day. Unnecessary meetings every week. Just became a daily struggle to stay motivated every day. I never felt like I did a good enough job, or did enough.

You get to make your own hours as a part time/per diem worker. They are very intentional about timing, such as meetings. You get support from your director and mentor and the entire team. They are understanding that you have a life outside of your job. Paid travel and training.

Cons

Inconsistent hours Per-diem means you have dry spells of no work Training is very independent and weird. You watch videos and study the slides to get "certified". The way you submit hours work is very awkward, through an excel spreadsheet. Not sure when a raise in daily consulting fees are allotted.
