Pros
The culture of SEL is top notched. They emphasize “doing business like our mothers would want us to.” You can already see how scrappy and passionate management is. I love working with my team for the past two years and can honestly see my growth excel because of them. This is a great place to learn for young engineers and I couldn’t recommend it more.
Cons
SEL seems to be struggling to retain talent, at least at my location. There’s a big elephant in the room that isn’t addressed which is we are severely underpaid compared to the market. Most people are leaving due to insufficient pay raises and high workloads. Would you grab at another opportunity for a less workload and higher pay? I’m sure almost everyone would say yes. Management all across the board knows this, but they act like they don’t know. They’ll hold meetings and issue company-wide surveys, but not listen to the feedback given. There are a good handful of unhappy folks with the amount of work they do for the low pay they have. SEL might start to slow down if they don’t change this.
