Dramatic Declining Work Environment

Pros

• Free soda, candy, snacks, and frequent catering • Flexible work schedule This place used to be great. When I first started at ScienceLogic, I loved the culture, people, and work. Over time though, things started to drastically decline as the company grew and started loosing key individuals that made it great and began replacing them with D-list individuals, managers, and executives.

Cons

• Horrible communication from the top down. Huge lack of transparency that leaves employees feeling like there is lack of direction. • Key decisions that impact entire departments are never openly discussed and feedback is never thoughtfully considered. The lack of transparency is appalling, especially when employees share their concerns and unhappiness with these decisions. • No clear vision, goals, or mission across departments to help teams throughout the company work together. Everyone is working in their own silos toward unclear goals. • HR department wants to appear concerned and want your feedback, but once you give it it will either get shared internally (not confidential) or fall to deaf ears. It's also encouraged for employees to write overly-optimistic reviews to combat these honest reviews. • Aspirational values do not reflect the negative corporate culture. • Bring back the culture. There used to be fun, monthly events that brought departments together. There is no thoughtful planning or even excitement about the sparse current corporate events.

Pros

comfortable work environment; lots of free food; company events; company benefit package; company match on 401(k) (although could be better!); flexible work schedules / work from home options; talented and committed employees; stock options for all employees; set of company core values that guide our daily interactions; outstanding work life balance; flexible time off policy; career paths

Cons

We are a very dynamic organization. If you're ok dealing with change and you're ok accepting new and exciting challenges; can work in an empowering session; take ownership for your contributions - you'll thrive. Not a lot of hand holding here...and we are far from perfect (who is?) but the company seems to have put the right structures in place to guide our explosive growth, manage change, etc. At the end of the day, the sky's the limit in terms of what you can achieve here in terms of professional growth, development and personal fulfillment - if you're a self-starter and willing to work hard, don’t need a lot of hand holding and become part of team that is developing some pretty neat solutions for our customers. If not, this may not be the best match for you.
