Pros

The pay thats it. Sometimes thete are more important things in life than money.

Cons

The senior managers within the energy retail industry are appaulling. Yes the pay is good and the benefits are good but a lot of my colleagues are off sick with stress and the attitude from management is nothing short of barbaric. The way you are spoken to is beyond belief and the pressure you are put under is unbearable. I would not advise anyone to work for Scottish Power unless you want your health to suffer. It is a horrible place and every single person hates it. No morale whatsoever and became dire when the spanish bought the company.

Pros

Nothing about the work itself, but my coworkers & manager are great (I got lucky with my manager, thankfully)

Cons

Barely any work-life balance, everything is micromanaged, you have customers calling up complaining, but you can't resolve their issues 90% of the time, but also the % of complains you raise is calculated, so if you get unlucky with calls and raise "too many", you'll lose some of your bonus. Systems barely work, making it so much more difficult to do your job, your AHT is constantly monitored. They claim to "care about customers", but if they call up about multiple issues & the calls end up being longer than 12mins, you get nagged by managers, all of a sudden my customer service role turned into a sales role because we're now being forced to mention boiler care & appliance cover on every single call, even if the customer calls up fuming and complaining, for meter appointments half of the time engineers don't show up & we get customers complaining - again. SP also outsource marketing companies to hire people to stand outside shopping centres, knocking on doors, etc. Who will then sign up customers with complete lies, such as "your tariff will be fixed, so your DD won't change at all until it runs out" or today I had a lady who was promised that we'd clear off her debt with her prev. Supplier if she switched to SP, they basically lie & tell them anything just so they can get commission & then we have to deal with that. And there's so much more, management don't listen to feedback in regards to anything, they just shrug and say "it's just how things are run" when it shouldn't be. This job is just not worth it.

Hi, thanks for leaving us a review. We are sorry to hear you are having issues with your work. This isn't something we want to hear from any of our staff, we know how challenging it can be when work is stressful. We would highly advise speaking with your line manager or our People Services team to try and resolve some of the issues.

Pros

Relieve on leaving the company before something dangerous happens.

Cons

Lack of onboarding training, incompetent management and absence of a hiring plan. Employees are expected to handle work without proper guidance or procedures, leading to unmanageable workloads and disorganisation. Health and safety rules are disregarded. The company lacks of trustworthiness, as the hybrid contract was abruptly changed from 2 to 3 days in the office to 5 days in the office without prior notice. I was considered leaving after 1 month.
