Location from where most employees lived (Santa Cruz County); lack of raises; lack of bonuses; when someone leaves the company or is let go, others will have to take over the job responsibilities without the position being back-filled; fear of retaliation of issues that might get brought up; lack of management response to issues needing addressing (turning a blind eye/good ol' boys club); if you want a promotion, you have to leave the company; no respect or concern for the humanity working at the company.

Salary and welfare is just so so. The new employee may take some time to get used to the environment, because something can't be self-learned anywhere, can only ask for colleague to teach me, which may not be convenient. The research here is very limited, most focused on development only.
