Pros

Work/Life Balance: being part of a large company, its easier to schedule your work if you have a need to take time off to attend to your life!. Excellent Benefits Package: salaries are generally good, although the astronomically high cost of bay area housing means you are still stretched, when it comes to finances.

Cons

Lack of clear communication from senior management: now that the CEO and COO are changed, it can get better. There have been issues with Respect for non-professional staff, specially when it came to grant them stock options. Also, there is a tendency to have surprises up the senior management's sleeves, as to who gets to stay and who gets to leave!

Pros

Some of the employees are great to work with and good benefits.

Cons

Poor communications across the board, silos, management heavy and management does not listen or care to listen. Outsourcing to companies whose staff are not properly trained causing more rework for the employees resulting in a higher expense to the company. With the higher costs not being tracked nor are those expenses shown in the ROI or project totals.

Pros

Well, it's not better than being unemployed, so I can't think of any.

Cons

This company is very stingy with employees. To cope with the economic downturn, they told us to use up our 2008 vacation and that there would be no layoffs. A month later, in January, 2009, they laid off a large number of employees. A VP spoke to us as a group, claiming to regret the decision. But, the day before he was laughing gleefully immediately after the CEO announced to directors and above that the layoff would take place. They have always managed to add insult to injury, in my experience.
