Pros

-Paid time off, sick time, and floater hours -Work is easy for the pay (most recently was $18.50 for this position) -If you give 100% you may be recognized and moved into a better position in the same department -Some of management is really nice and understanding (they cant help much as their hands are tied, but nice)

Cons

-Location Misleading: While the listing says “Charlotte,” the office is actually in Ballantyne. Though technically in Charlotte, this may affect your commute expectations. -Inconsistent Policies: Management frequently changes policies and sends vague emails without follow-up training. At the same time, there are threats of write-ups or termination for non-compliance. -Internal Transfer Barriers: It's rumored that the department head discourages internal transfers, making it difficult for employees to move to other departments. Few have successfully done so. -Toxic Work Environment: The office culture can be difficult due to constant gossip and unprofessional behavior. -Unfair Work Dynamics: If you excel in your role, you may face hostility from colleagues. Underperformers are often ignored and rarely face consequences, with some even sleeping at their desks without facing write-ups/termination. -Mediocrity is Rewarded: Striving to do your best can be exhausting, as you'll end up picking up the slack for others who don’t contribute. -Poor Training: Training consists of just four days in a classroom with limited hands-on experience, leaving you unprepared for real-world scenarios. The promised shadowing period is rarely completed, which can be dangerous considering there can be intense scenarios where people’s safety is actually at risk. -Mismanagement: Upper management has made decisions without considering the impact on staff, like over-hiring instead of focusing on better training and fair pay. When things went wrong, they fired an entire group of new hires instead of people who were already under-performing. -Call Center Atmosphere: Though not fully a call center yet, the environment is evolving in that direction. -Lack of Respect for Employee Comfort: Management frequently imposes restrictions, like banning eating at your desk or using nicer break rooms. Staff from other departments can enter the remote guard break room but every other department has access to the much bigger and nicer break room space (remote guard badges are unable to enter these spaces). -Unprofessional Behavior: Loud, inappropriate conversations are common, and addressing it can lead to negative consequences. If management takes action, you may be blamed for reporting it even if you didn’t say anything to management. Multiple men with gather and have sexist conversations or talk about SA and victim blame/be SA apologists, for multiple hours in the shared office space. -Remote Work: Thai job could be entirely remote but the head of the department doesn’t want it to be. It could be successful if they were better at giving employees structure, setting expectations, and enforcing those expectations.
