Pros

The employees do an incredible job with very difficult patients. These are patients who have extensive wounds, difficulty getting off of vents and other major defecits. There is generally great teamwork and a wonderful focus on the patients and families and their needs.

Cons

The computer systems are cumbersom for medication delivery, pharmacy and other systems. There are over 100 small unit Select facilities - so there is a need to have standardization. This means that change and improvements in an individual unit are hampered by the need to keep everything the same across the large company.

Pros

The group of people I work with, the ability to choose the days you want to work. Sad I cannot honestly come up with anything else positive at this facility.

Cons

Nurse to patient ratio without concern re: Acuity, Never being heard by CEO/DON, stress for all employees who work at Select. Nurses pushed to the limit ,revolving door of new hires, always short of staff, but can always take more admits regardless of staffing. Anything goes wrong....always the nurse. HR at facility worthless to staff.

Pros

Generous pto Extended illness days Cpr and Acls paid for Paid training education 12 hour shifts

Cons

Corporate cares about the bottom line before proper patient care. Inappropriate staffing combined with high expectations of added duties that are impossible to complete In a 12 hr shift. Perpetual fear of losing your job. Bullying by management Never having enough supplies to do ur job. Patient satisfaction surveys are more of a concern as opposed to giving the patient the proper treatment plan for the best clinical outcome. Ie: If the patient cannot drink water and has failed a swallow test. Management gets angry at us. Because the patient is not happy.
