Pros

- clear direction and vision around why we exist and for whom - good benefits, quarterly team trips and outings

Cons

- Headed in good direction around implementation, timelines, and processes, but needs some more rigor and best practices - Practice 'need-to-know' approach towards decision-making

A little chaotic, but in a fun way! (most the time)

Pros

Fast paced, high energy work environment. Very collaborative as a team and appreciate the banter. Best team culture fueled heavily by the leadership that I can appreciate. They really care about your well being and will get their hands dirty with you. Oh and there is lots of snacks, food, all the things to my heart!

Cons

Stressful at times with deadlines or goals, but it's done in a way that doesn't feel like the world is against you, but with you. As a Startup, things change a lot and often. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. But always for the right reasons. Lack of communication can occur sometimes, which seems to be getting better and better.

How to NOT Run a Startup

Pros

- Flexible time off - Remote (this is changing)

Cons

It is truly a marvel to witness what the current CEO, Shawn Gaide, has "accomplished." It is almost impressive really...unraveling deep company culture and exponential growth that took 7 years to build in less than a year is...well impressive! Yes, Sendlane was the hottest startup just one year ago. What changed? Leadership. Did leadership have any previous experience in the industry? No. Combine this with the general "cold and corporate" approach from Shawn and you have a recipe for disaster. And so disaster ensued. -The culture, which was fun, explorative, and exciting, became a non-factor. -Team retreats got cancelled. -Employees with years of tenure and success got suddenly fired without getting replaced. This meant more work for existing employees without more pay. -Leadership went quiet instead of addressing issues, blurring the future for many of the hopefuls here at Sendlane.
