Boring

Pros

You worked mainly on your own. Managed claims from open to close. You had a lot of resources to reach out to if you needed help.

Cons

Very boring work. I would get done with my daily tasks by noon almost every day. Training was horrible, you read a manual then got thrown in.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. I’m pleased to know you enjoyed the autonomy of your position, while still feeling you were able to get help when you needed it. Sentry has a strong Learning organization that looks to provide an interactive training model for our associates, so your comment regarding training caught my attention. I appreciate your feedback regarding your experience and will look into it further. Michele Dufresne – VP Chief Claims Officer

Life as a Sentry Associate

Pros

Sentry is a very family oriented company. They are fair but tough. Expect to work beyond normal business hours and days as you climb the corporate ladder.

Cons

You'll need to be able to adjust to living in small towns for most of their job opportunities. Big city folks may not like the job location if working at the home office.

Thank you for sharing your positive feedback. We try to promote flexibility in our associate’s lives outside of Sentry, because time spent outside of work ultimately impacts time spent at work. While we acknowledge there are times that require additional work hours, we don’t want that to become the norm—so please speak with your manager if it ever becomes a problem. In regards to our location, we’re proud to operate our headquarters in Stevens Point, WI. We understand it’s not a “big city,” but we’re always happy to discuss the benefits and amenities our home town—and our other office locations—has to offer prospects and new associates. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. Javier Sotelo – Director HR
