Pros

Good place to learn about insurance coverages and how to prospect for new business. Nice 401k match with immediate vesting. Company car with all expenses paid. Potential to earn a nice income.

Cons

Low pay for the amount of hours expected. Working from home was nice, although it is difficult to separate home and work life because of the expectations. Some very hard working team members qualified for the Sentry paid vacations and were not able to go because only a certain number of sales people nationwide are allowed to attend. If you like sitting at a desk and typing and driving a car A LOT, this is a great place to be.

Pros

You could skate by just getting the job done. With Pete McPartland's arrival, changes have come into play that are starting to motivate. There has been a push for employees to better train themselves.

Cons

Previously lacked a framework to properly get employees to care; very apathetic attitudes. Certain units seem to hire on politics rather than skills. Managment is young so there isn't really a lot of space to move up at this exact moment.

Pros

Decent salary. They match you up to 6% on your 401k.

Cons

The claim volume is very high. Adjusters are micro-managed. There were times when I wasn't sure if I was looking for coverage or looking to disclaim it. There are too many programs purchased by the company that distract the adjusters from their job. Too much emphasis is placed on performance with these programs. Senior management claims that the numbers show improvement with the programs. If the claim volume per adjuster was reduced these programs wouldn't be needed in the first place.
