It is a job.

Pros

Flexible with PTO and scheduling. If you have an obligation outside of work, there is a good chance you can make it work with your work schedule. Plus, the company trains you, so if you are new to claims, you wont be entirely in the dark.

Cons

This job is a lot of work. You will regret taking time off if not planned accordingly. You will be on the phone much of your time, and people are not always honest with you, which can be frustrating.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this feedback. We’re pleased to hear that you’re happy working here at Sentry and with your Claims peers and management. You’re providing a valuable service to our policyholders and others who come to rely upon insurance during difficult times in their lives. They look to their Claims professional for advice and care to help resolve often unfortunate situations. Yes, a career in Claims is a lot of work, but as you correctly point out, careful planning on how to schedule your day and time off really can control the workload. We encourage you to reach out to your peers and your management during times of particular stress as they can help balance the load. Thank you again and best of luck for continued success in Claims with Sentry. Mark Trautschold SVP- Chief Claims Officer
